Day 2:

Stories II – Language

Winter | Akohsera'kè:ne

Role of Language in the Community

Kanien’kéha (the Mohawk language) keeps culture alive and offers a different way of seeing the world. Each word carries history and a deep connection to the land. Learning Kanien’kéha helps reconnect with Haudenosaunee culture while acknowledging the emotional burden and challenges of language revitalization. Language is more than words; it is a way of understanding life and staying connected to one’s roots.
